Activities (Updated June 30th)
EPT Meetings: Edmonton Prime Timers meet on every second Sunday of the month, with the exception of December, July and August, at the Unitarian Church at 10804 - 119th Street. Meetings commence at 2:30 pm with a social half hour, followed by our meeting and then any one of various activities (presentations, potlucks, etc.). In December we have a Christmas party, in July a BBQ, and then in August a picnic. Again, they are on the second Sunday of the month. Upcoming programs are listed:
*New*
We will have the traditional potluck BBQ at Jack D’s acreage on
Sunday, July 12th, starting at 3:00 pm. Get there earlier if you’re
willing to help set things up. The coals will be fired up for about 5:00
pm. Please bring something for yourself for the BBQ and any one of a
side dish, salad or dessert to share. EPT will provide soft drinks but,
if you want alcohol, you must bring your own. Be responsible about this.
Bring mosquito repellent and sunscreen if you usually need them.
Jack’s address is 51115 Range Road 224. To get there from Edmonton find
your way to Hwy 14 and head towards Tofield. Turn right (south) at Range
Road 224 which is not far after the intersection with Hwy 21. Drive
about 5.5 km along Range Road 224; Jack’s place is on the left hand
side.
If you’re coming from the south (Camrose or Stettler), drive north on
Hwy 21, turn right (east) at Township Road 510, and left (north) onto
Range Road 224. Jack’s place is about 1 1/2 km north on the right hand
side.
If anyone wishes to take pictures, please do. I’ll be happy to post them
at the website.
Again, as we have done for many years, we will have a potluck picnic with real china at Jerome's cottage at Ferintosh overlooking beautiful Beaver Lake. The date will be Sunday, August 9th in the afternoon. More later.
*New* Members Page: Note that there are new slideshows on the members' page.
Theatre: The performances listed below are all ones for which some members have tickets or subscriptions. Bill is usually able to get us a deal and, if you wish to go to any of them, contact him to see if he can get the same deal for you. If not, you should be able to get tickets from Tix on The Square or the Mayfield Box Office. We usually try to arrange dinner around performances at the Citadel and Jubilee. Contact edmontonpt@yahoo.ca with any queries.
The Lion King at the Jubilee. Tickets are now on sale to the general public. We're going on July 11th at 2:00 pm. There's usually dinner after so anyone who goes to the show is welcome to join us.
You're a Good Man Charlie Brown at the Walterdale Playhouse at 2:00 pm on July 12th. Since this conflicts with the July BBQ, those who have purchased tickets may exchange them if they wish to attend both events. The play runs from July 8th to 18th. There is an exchange fee of $1 for Monday through Thursday performances and a premium of an additional $2 for opening night and Friday and Saturday performances.
Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks at the Mayfield Dinner Theatre on July 22nd (10:00 am).
*New* Lunch at Vi's for Pies, 13408, Stony Plain Road was so good that attendees asked for an encore on July 23rd. Arrive at 11:00 am to 11:15 am. Get there early and we should be able to sit on the patio. If you haven't signed up, contact edmontonpt@yahoo.ca. We will save seating for all those who sign up or email.
